During The Troubles, the British wanted to outfit deep cover agents with a defensive handgun and settled on the Walther PP, ordering approximately 3,000 in 1974. These guns were heavily used, and many were retrofitted with new firing pins (designated by a "P" mark on slide, which is present on this example) and recoated in Suncorite before they were eventually pulled out of service in the 1980s. Standard i-dot sights with matte rib, lightened hammer, plastic grips, finger groove magazine. Lanyard loop at heel. Import marked on right side of frame for IAC. Accompanied by Walther PP alligator box with extra finger extension magazine with mismatched serial number on side, as appropriate for when these guns were offered commercially. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the Suncorite finish on slide and frame with some normal marks with handling and operation throughout. Some silvering to high edges. Grips have some marring to bottoms. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. Box is very good with some chipping and peeling expected of age. EW
