A complete telegraph set with provenance. Tag affixed to cherry mounting board indicates components with dates and location where installed: Ashville, New York. This set includes a relay, sounder, and key. The relay is marked "A & GW RR (1860)", the sounder is "NYP&O Bunnell (1882)", and the key is "Long Street, New York (1882)". Note indicates that key and sounder came from first A & GW station at Ashville, New York. This sale includes detailed notes from Robert Nichols dated August, 1982, indicating his acquisition of this set from Mr. Howard Forbes in 1974.
