US M1822/28 flintlock musket in original flint manufactured by L. Pomeroy in 1833. 42" round barrel in .69 caliber smoothbore with no provision for rear sight and integral blade front sight on Charleville style front barrel band. Barrel is marked "US / JM" and is dated 1833 near breech. 1 piece walnut stock in 3 barrel band musket configuration complete with US military style buttplate. Complete with US M1816 socket bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: Very good, with metal turned a dove gray patina with age related freckling throughout. Stock is very good as lightly cleaned with cartouches illegible and a crack on left stock flat opposite lock near right lock retaining screw. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is dark. Bayonet is very good with markings easily visible. Scabbard is cracked throughout and has begun to separate about 6" from tip. A desirable M1822/28 musket still in original flint complete with bayonet and scabbard. TON
