Lot consists of: (A) British Pattern 1853 percussion rifled musket, dated 1864 with 39 - 1/2" round barrel in .577 caliber with rifle rear sight graduated to 800 meters with blade front. 1 piece plain walnut stock in 3 barrel band configuration with brass nosecap and buttplate. Complete with pattern 1853 bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: Very good, as refinished with barrel and lock retaining a vast majority of their added brown finish with minor handling marks throughout. Stock is excellent as sanded with no major cracks or signs of distress. Mechanically fine. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Bayonet is bright with minor freckling throughout. Scabbard is complete with leather beginning to crack due to age and dryness. (B) British Pattern 1853 percussion rifled musket, dated 1862 with 39 - 1/2" round barrel in .577 caliber with rifle rear sight graduated to 800 meters with blade front. 1 piece plain walnut stock in 3 barrel band configuration with brass nosecap and buttplate. CONDITION: Very good, as refinished with barrel retaining nearly all of its added brown finish with scattered light handling marks throughout. Lock has been color case hardened and retains bright case colors. Stock is very good as cleaned and minor crack at left of breech. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is dark with visible rifling. TON
