Winchester Super Grade configuration Model 70 with action and barrel made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1941 and serial numbered to 1948. Correct 24" blued Winchester Proof Steel standard weight barrel with correct stippled front hooded sight ramp and correct 22G rear adjustable sight with barrel marked "41" on the underside. Winchester 2 line address and marking "MODEL 70- 35 REM.". Winchester "Type II" action with smooth greenish finish with factory drilled and plugged scope mounting holes. Bolt has correct solid handle, "R" marked extractor and correct bolt face configuration with 81110 electopenciled on bolt body matching serial number on action, fitted with correct transition 3 position safety. Blued quick detachable floorplate marked "-SUPER GRADE-" with blued quick detachable sling swivel bases and Winchester blued checkered Widow's Peak steel buttplate. Walnut later style Super Grade Monte Carlo checkered pistol grip stock with late style cheekpiece and unmarked steel grip cap. Metal components meet correct factory specs for an original .35 Remington, consignor states that this gun was stocked at a later date at the factory. CONDITION: 95% barrel blue with light handling marks, 95% action finish with some small operation marks. 95% plus floorplate blue. 95% varnish with some small dings in forestock checkering. Missing swivels and leather sling. Excellent bore and mechanics. DLM
