Roper Revolving 4-shot shotgun made by Sylvester H. Roper of Amherst, Massachusetts, revolving rifles and shotguns from 1867 to 1868. 28" blued smoothbore round barrel in scarce 16 bore with threaded choke ring and bead front sight. 4-shot revolving chamber with door marked "ROPER REPEATING RIFLE CO/AMHERST MASS/ PATENTED APRIL 10. 1866". Exposed cocking hammer and single trigger. Plain straight walnut stock with steel smooth shotgun buttplate. Plain walnut forearm with pewter base and tip. Gun is missing the shells required for firing this gun. CONDITION: Overall good with light pitting on hammer and barrel. Wood shows poor storage with some water marks but is solid. Dark pitted bore with working mechanics. DLM
