Original Southern Pacific 4-6-0 builder plate by Cooke. Date and locomotive information engraved on back and filed with gold paint. Original road number was 1830, renumbered 2249 in 1901, scrapped in December 1935 in Bayshore. Face of plate is polished, but tarnished on a red field, which is peeling, showing black field behind. Hanging bracket was added to back side of plate using original bolt mounting holes. This plate was once in the collection of famed plate collector Richard Jackson.
