Manufactured 1939. Early pre-floating chamber solid barrel. Fitted with 6 shock buffs on recoil guide rod to allow correct cycling. Left side of slide with 2 line 1 block patent and address information with pony at rear. Right side of slide with correct Colt Ace rollmark. "69" and "R" on top of frame bridle. Left side of trigger guard with "P" and "VP" proofs. Right side of trigger guard with "60" subinspector proof. Checkered spurred hammer, slide release, thick tab safety, short trigger, and magazine release. Long 1911A1 grip safety, arched knurled mainspring housing. Magazine loading assist pull down in line with body of magazine. Fully checkered walnut grips. CONDITION: Slide has been hit with a chemical cleaning solution that has softened legends somewhat and has some pitting in the stirrup cut. Frame has some chemical cleaning at dust cover. Marks from handling and storage throughout, some pitting at trigger guard. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good. EMW
