Springfield Model 1863 Civil War converted to centerfire .50 caliber Centerfire by Erskine Allin then known as the Model 1866 Allin Conversion. In-the-white sleeved .50 caliber rifled barrel with integral pinned blade front sight and rear 1858 flip sight. Blued trapdoor breechblock dated "1866" over "(Eagle)". Original Civil War vintage lock marked "1865" at rear with "(Eagle)" and "US Springfield" markings. Walnut full military stock with iron hardware including 3-barrel bands, "US" marked buttplate, and original steel ramrod. Stock has "HSH" cartouche and comes with leather correct style sling of unknown age. CONDITION: Barrel possibly cleaned years ago with repro rear sight. Breech block has most of original finish with lock fading to a silvery patina. Stock hardware looks to have been cleaned with stock also looking to have been lightly cleaned with usage marks and dings. Excellent bore and mechanics. DLM
