Savage No.4 MK1* bolt action rifle. Made circa 1943-45 by Savage Arms for use by the British Military. The top of the receiver retains its "U.S. PROPERTY" markings. British proof on the chamber and tonnage markings on the barrel. Most parts have "S" stamped for Savage on them. "2" marked on the bolt head. "(Flaming Bomb)" marked on the left side of the receiver. No import marks found. Matching serials on the bolt, socket, fore stock and magazine. Standard blade front sight and 2 position flip rear sight. Metal components have their original metal finish. Wood has a light oil finish. Metal butt plate with trap door. CONDITION: Metal retains 65% of its original finish with general wear throughout. Stock has normal, dings and scratches. Bore has light frosting with sharp two groove rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
