German Mauser 98 sporter bolt action rifle with scope. Built on a military 98 action. Barrel is marked "8 M/M MAUSER" on the chamber. Floor plate has an "(eagle)/280" Waffenamt, in addition to a "8470". No other markings are present. Round steel barrel with a ramped blade front sight. No rear iron sights. Right side of the receiver is drilled of a peep sight. Barrel and receiver have a blued finish. Jeweled extractor and spoon handle style bolt. Oil finished wood stock with checkering on the wrist and forearm. Check piece on the left side. Checkered wood butt as well. Includes attached Stoeger marked leather sling and Leupold Vari-X-III. Scope sits on Burris mounts. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its finish with general wear. There is some light surface rust on the barrel. Stock has a few dings and scratches. There is a hairline crack on the left stock line, under the chamber. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Scope has some light wear, but the optic is clear. Sling has light crazing.
