Circa 1978. A nice and light weight 20 gauge game gun with 25" blacked steel barrels. Chopper lump barrels are fit with ejectors, Churchill styled narrow, machined filed tapered raised rib and a steel round front bead sight. Rib is marked "AYA" with gold inlay near breech. Right barrel reads "AYA-AGUIRRE & ARANZABAL - MADE IN SPAIN", left reads "PRECISION SPORTS, INC. ITHACA, NY." (for importer). Barrel flats with appropriate Spanish proofs, serial number "532663", also stamped " 20-70", (20 gauge and 2 - 3/4" chambers). Bottom of barrels are stamped with stars representing their individual choke dimensions "****", for Improved Cylinder and "***" for Modified. Bottom of the left barrel is also stamped with "(AYA)". The case color hardened finish sidelock action is adorned with engravings of florals, ribbons and scrolls while the bottom of the frame has in addition a banner "AGUIRRE Y ARANZABAL". The action is fit with Holland & Holland styled hand detachable locks, double triggers (front hinged), disc set strikers, gas exhausts, gold line cocking indicators and a blued and engraved top lever with both sides of the thumbpiece checkered. The gun is auto-safe with an engraved and scored safety slide just behind a gold "S" on the top tang. The straight grain reddish-brown European walnut stock has drop points, 2 panel checkered straight hand grip, vacant silver oval on toe line, and a reddish-brown "DECELERATOR" rubber recoil pad. Double triggers are protected by a blued, scroll engraved trigger guard that extends to a long bottom strap which has the serial number engraved "532663". Splinter forend with matched checkering is fit with a blued Anson styled push button release and case colored engraved pin. Iron metal is case colored and interior metal is blued and with serial number. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain mostly all of their original black. Bores are bright. Action is tight and barrels are on face. Triggers are crisp and ejectors are in time. Stock and forend are both very good with the slightest bit of handling marks. Great Upland Game Gun. CP
