Kentucky style flintlock rifle stamped on barrel flat "LECHLER". Most likely built by "Henry Lechler" circa 1800 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. 46" full octagon rifled barrel with rifle sights. Flintlock with single trigger control. Curly maple full stock with raised carved 'C' scroll pattern behind cheek, beavertails behind sideplate and lock and incised "squiggle" pattern at end of moulding line. Stock has flat brass barrel keys and brass hardware including a 4-piece floral border engraved Daisy finial patchbox with release in toeplate. Stock also has silver Hunter's Star above cheekpiece and silver thumbpiece on wrist. Comes with hardwood striped ramrod. CONDITION: Rifle appears in attic condition with lock appearing to be the original lock. Brass has aged appearance possibly cleaned long ago. Stock has original sheen and handling wear and crack near nosecap and some chipping around the lock and sliver missing along forestock. Dark bore with sticky mechanics. A great looking rifle in what appears to be untouched condition. DLM
