Percussion Upper Susquehanna Style smooth rifle made in Snyder County Pennsylvania signed in script "J.G.U." for John George Ulrich of Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania circa 1850. 36 -3/4" smoothbore octagon in 42 caliber with hunting sights and signed "J.G.U." with Joseph Golcher percussion lock with turned double set trigger. Full curly maple stock with overall length of 52" with brass hardware including 4 piece engraved patchbox with 8 piercings, release in buttplate, brass saddleplate, and Upper Susquehanna style 2 piece entry pipe with rivet. Stock has 11 silver inlays including a Native American holding an axe in a threatening position. CONDITION: Overall good with a nice well taken care of look. Some slight burnout around lock with no major repairs or restoration. DLM
