Marlin Model 1888 lever action rifle. Made 1889. 2 line company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. "32-W" marked on the chamber. Octagon barrel with blade front sight and buckhorn v-notch rear. Full length magazine tube. Metal components have their original blued finish. Upper tang is drilled for a tang sight. Wood has been lightly sanded and oiled. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with most areas forming an even brown patina. Wood has handling marks and scratches. There is a chip at the stock line, on the left side of the hand guard. Bore is clean overall with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
