Lot consists of (A) Swiss model 1878 serrated sawback bayonet marked "SJC Neuhausen" on the ricasso complete with its original leather scabbard. This is the first model of the Swiss Vetterli rifle bayonet. The guard is numbered "207421". CONDITION: The blade remains somewhat bright and with scattered pitting and blemishes. The grip is sturdy with no cracks. Scabbard remains supple with scuffs to on the leather. Overall good. (B) British pattern 1888 MK II Lee Metford rifle bayonet with leather scabbard. Both sides of the ricasso are cluttered with marks including the Victoria Regina mark and various proof marks. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a nice gray patina with light pitting. Wood grips remain firmly attached. Overall good. (C) Japanese Type 30 Arisaka bayonet manufactured by the Nagoya Arsenal contained in its original metal scabbard. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a gray patina with pitting throughout. One significant dent in the grips. Metal scabbard exhibits heavy pitting. CONDITION: Fair. (D) Japanese Type 30 Arisaka bayonet manufactured under Kokura supervision. CONDITION: The bayonet retains most of its finish with a few blemishes. Grips exhibit wear. Overall very good. (E) Japanese Type 30 Arisaka bayonet manufactured by Toyoda Automatic Loom Works under Nagoya supervision with metal scabbard. CONDITION: The blade retains most of its original finish with scattered blemishes. One significant dent in the wood grips. Scabbard exhibits scattered pitting. CONDITION: Overall good. JLD
