Colt Officers Model Heavy Barrel double action revolver. Made 1937. Top of the barrel is marked with the company address in 2 lines. Left side of the barrel is marked "OFFICERS MODEL 38/HEAVY BARREL" all between 2 Maltese crosses. Rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. "VP" proof on the top left of the trigger guard. Matching serials on the frame and crane. Round, steel barrel with adjustable blade front sight and u-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Factory checkered trigger face and hammer. Checkered wood grips with silver Colt medallions. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent overall. Bore is clean overall with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Sharp timing and lock up. Light drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
