Fine Smith & Wesson Model 1950 .44 Target (.44 Hand Eject 4th Model Target) double action revolver with box. Made 1954 and sometimes referred to the "Pre Model 24". Standard trade mark and company address on the right side of the frame. Left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON", with the right side marked with the caliber. Matching serials on the barrel, butt and cylinder. Matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and adjustable U-notch rear. Factory blued finish. Case colored serrated trigger and checkered hammer. Factory checkered wood grips with "S&W" monograms. Includes original blue flat board box with papers and later production cleaning kit. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% or more of its original finish with light wear on the barrel. Of note, front sight blade was painted at some point. Grips have a few handling marks and gouges at the bottom. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Hammer and cylinder are tight. Good timing and lockup. Cylinder has drag lines. Mechanically fine. Box has some fading/discoloration, but is solid overall. JWA
