Eddystone Model 1917 Enfield bolt action rifle with bayonet. Made early 1918 at the Eddystone factory. Barrel is "E" marked above a flaming bomb and dated "1-18". All parts look to be "E" marked for Eddystone, including the stock. Eagle's head cartouche on the bottom of the wrist. Standard blade front sight with rear aperture adjustable to 1,600 yards. Original military blued finish on the metal components. Stock has its original light oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate with trapdoor. Includes a "1918" dated Remington production bayonet. Bayonet has no scabbard. Marked with a flaming bomb and "eagles head" proof on the ricasso. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with some wear and brown patina forming. Stock had minor dings, scratches, and handling marks. There is a small crack in the front of the front band. Shiny bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Bayonet is Good overall, with general wear on the handle and hilt. Blade has wear as well, but has not been sharpened. JWA
