Colt Official Police Heavy Barrel double action revolver. Made 1943. Top of the barrel is marked with the company address in 3 lines. Left side of the barrel is marked "COLT OFFICAL/POLICE 38", this is all over "HEAVY BARREL" inside 2 Maltese crosses. Rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. "VP" proof on the top left of the trigger guard. Matching serials on the frame and crane. Round steel barrel with half moon front sight and u-notch frame. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Checkered trigger face and hammer. Aftermarket stag grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lock up. Mechanically fine. JWA
