Manufactured from 1875 to 1877, with approximately 2300 standard models produced with solid recoil shields. This example is finished with still lustrous nickel plating. Standard length 2 - 3/4" octagon barrel with single line address, half moon front sight, and v-notch rear sight. 5-shot fluted cylinder, case hardened hammer, nitre blued spur trigger, and checkered gutta percha birds head grips. Housed in a green factory box with with instruction label pasted inside lid and "FULL PLATE/No. 1 30 Ctg." stamped on bottom. CONDITION: Excellent. Retains nearly all of its factory applied nickel finish with a light drag line and some scattered marks. Hammer retains bountiful amounts of brilliant case colors. Trigger also retains vast majority of brilliant nitre blue with light wear. Grips excellent. Fine bore and crisp lockup. Box is good with some staining and expected wear. One end is coming unattached with other edges glued for support. BAS
