Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 29 double action revolver. Made 1957. Factory trade mark and company address on the right side of the frame. "44 MAGNUM" marked on the right side of the barrel, with "SMITH & WESSON" marked on the left. Matching serials on the butt, frame, and cylinder. 4 screw gun with square butt frame. Matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. Round steel barrel with ramped blade front sight and adjustable u-notch rear. Factory dark blued finish. Factory checkered wood grips with silver "S&W" medallions. Includes a period black wood box with "S&W" marked on the outside lid. Blue cloth interior with cleaning tools and a later addition manual present. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish with a few splotches of surface rust. Grips are excellent. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Sharp timing and lock up. Light drag line on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. Case has some exterior wear. JWA
