Engraved DWM LP.08 Artillery Luger semi automatic pistol with stock. Made "1917" as marked on the chamber. "DWM" marked in script on the toggle. Imperial proofs still visible on the right side of the chamber. No import mark found. Matching serials on the visible numbered parts. Sear does not match. Original checkered wood grips are matching. Standard round steel barrel with blade front sight and 800 meter rear tangent. Frame, slide, and barrel have scroll engraving, signed by "W.B. ELLIS" on the front of the frame. Bluing looks to have been mostly scrubbed before the engraving was done. Strawed parts were cleaned and gold washed, before being engraved. Wood bottom magazine is numbered, but does not match the gun. Includes a later production wood shoulder stock. Stock iron is not numbered (possibly from an original stock). Metal butt plate with wood insert in the middle. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish, with most areas being scrubbed before the engraving was done. Grips have light finish wear. Bore is very lightly frosted, but retains crisp rifling. Will not lock open on an empty magazine, but is otherwise mechanically fine. Rear sight tangent is bent. Magazine has light wear. Wood stock has a few handling marks and scratches. Very interesting engraved Luger for your collection. JWA
