Smith & Wesson .38 Number 2 Baby Russian single action revolver chambered in .38 Smith & Wesson. Called the "Baby Russian" for the similarity of the ejector housing to the Russian models. Nickel finish and fully engraved in an American style floral design. 3 - 1/4" ribbed barrel, pinned front sight and two line manufacturer patent stampings on top of rib. Knurled hammer, latch buttons, and trigger face. Aftermarket smooth Mother of Pearl stocks with penciled initials and date of "1880". 5 shot fluted cylinder. All serials matching. Includes factory letter stating this firearm was shipped on November 6, 1876 and delivered to M.W. Robinson New York City, N.Y. which was Smith & Wesson's largest distributer of the time. The letter also states that it was shipped with a plain nickel finish and hard rubber stocks. CONDITION: Good overall condition with almost all finish remaining and light signs of oxidation throughout. Light scratches and handling marks throughout. Semi dark bore and good mechanics. GFP
