Smith & Wesson American Number 3 Second Model single action revolver chambered in .44 Smith & Wesson. Left side plate has engraved attribution "Marshal Dallas Stoudenmire El Paso Texas". Marshal Dallas Stoudenmire (1845-1882) was the El Paso marshal and made famous through a gun fight nearby called the "Four Dead in Five Seconds Gunfight". Features of the firearm include a square butt frame, 8" barrel with pinned front sight blade, interlocking latch and hammer, bottom of frame rounded for the trigger pin, and ivory stocks. Right stock has an eagle holding a snake in its beak carved into it. All matching serials. CONDITION: Good overall condition and seems to have been refinished sporting a silver patina. Metal surfaces show signs of handling and ware. Stocks have some chips and scratches. Semi dark bore. Loose mechanics. GFP
