1870s vintage Colt Model 1861 Navy conversion single action revolver, serial number 31916. 7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .38 Centerfire with Colt New York barrel address, low profile German silver front sight, and hammer notch rear. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, cylinder arbor, cylinder frame, trigger guard, and butt. 1-piece plain walnut replacement grips. CONDITION: Very good, as refinished with a generous amount of the reapplied bluing remaining with scattered handling marks and finish loss consistent with holster wear on the left side of barrel assembly. Seams are visible where original components, such as where rammer assembly was filled in, have become visible from the refinishing process. Replacement grips are strong with handling marks throughout. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand. Bore is dark with visible rifling. A desirable and scarcely seen cartridge conversion Colt 1861 Navy single action revolver, with a total of only about 2,200 made. TON
