1848 vintage Colt Model 1848 Pocket Baby Dragoon single action percussion revolver, serial number 3861. 6" round barrel in .31 caliber with cone front sight, 2-line barrel address, and hammer notch rear. Matching serial numbers observed on wedge, barrel, cylinder arbor, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Brass trigger guard and backstrap. 1-piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original finishes faded to a grey patina with scattered age-related freckling throughout. Brass backstrap and trigger guard are mostly an untouched mellow patina with visible amounts of original silver plating on top of backstrap and trigger guard. Grips are strong with no major cracks. Action indexes correctly, is tight, and crisp as professionally rebuilt. Bore is dark with visible rifling and abrasion throughout from use with corrosive black powder. TON
