Prewar Infantry private's dress tunic dated 1936. These Waffenrocks were worn until 1940 and were generally stored at home during the war. Tunic is made from a fine quality tricot wool tunic, with no visible holes, stains, and very light moth tracking in a couple of areas. Tunic is marked "M36", with size stamps, "Wilhelm Vlohl & Co., BERLIN", and a nice infantry regiment marking "4. Komp. I.R. 127". One set of award loops are present on the left chest. The tunic is lined in an olive rayon with a couple of light stains. The inner cuffs have moderate staining. Collar is green wool with white wool piping for the infantry branch. No visible damage. The collar tabs are white backed, and are machine sewn with flat wire Litzen. The sewn-in shoulder straps are green wool with white piping, and have a nicely embroidered "697" in white. The shoulder strap buttons have a "5". A green wool backed flat wire eagle is nicely hand sewn to the right breast, and appears to be original to the tunic. Sleeve cuffs are dark green wool with white backed flat wire Litzen, with light staining to the white. All the buttons on the tunic are matching and era sewn. CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
