Colt Model 1878 Frontier Six Shooter double action revolver. Made 1893. Restamped 2 line company address on the top of the barrel. Left side of the barrel is etched with "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER". Circled rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and v-notch rear. Nicely reapplied blued finish. Fire blue was reapplied to the proper parts as well. Lanyard ring is present. Aftermarket checkered plastic grips. Includes set of period mother of pearl grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its reapplied blued finish with light wear and handling marks. Grips have a few handling marks. Bore is clean overall with strong rifling. Hammer is tight. Cylinder has side-side movement. Good timing and lockup. Mechanically operable in both single and double action. Extra grips have wear and handling marks. Right grip panel has a chip out of the rear edge. JWA
