Manufactured in 1862 for US Army martial use. Blued 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel on top flat with 2-line barrel address including 1861 patent date. Post front sight and v-notch rear sight set into frame. 6-shot percussion cylinder. Barrel, frame, and cylinder marked with "J" inspector marks, with additional "W" inspector mark towards rear of frame. 2 piece smooth walnut grips, the left bearing an inspector cartouche. Revolver is housed in a period J. E. Condict black leather flap holster. CONDITION: Very good. Traces of original blued finish are retained on barrel with balance a mottled brown patina and some freckling. Cylinder and loading lever shows more significant portions of blued finish thinning to brown patina. Traces of case colors present on hammer. Markings crisp. Grips good with some wear and impressions, in addition to chip at left heel. Cartouche crisp. Near excellent bore with crisp mechanics. Holster dry with wear and cracking surface. Toe plug missing.
