Attractive late production 1850 vintage Colt Baby Dragoon .31 caliber percussion revolver exhibiting many of the features commonly associated with the 1849 pocket revolver. Blued 4" octagon barrel with 2-line New York address and loading lever. Brass post front sight and v-notch rear. 5-shot cylinder with stagecoach hold up scene and rectangle stops correct for these late Baby Dragoons. Silver plated square back trigger guard and grip straps. Grips are 1-piece smooth walnut. CONDIITON: Very good plus. Barrel retains significant portions of factory applied blued finish thinning to brown patina. Traces of case colors visible on loading lever, with balance gray patina. Frame and hammer bright gray. Cylinder scene has wear but is still largely visible. Grip straps retain majority of silver plating thinning to brass at high wear areas. Grips have only minor marks. Fine bore and mechanics. Full or partial matching numbers observed on frame, barrel assembly, loading lever, wedge, cylinder, cylinder arbor, trigger guard, and back strap. A fine example of a desirable black powder Colt.
