Brass front sight with deep V notch rear sight on unsigned octagonal barrel with deeply cut 7 groove rifling. Converted to percussion via use of a drum and converted flint lock. Lock is likely an English import with a faint "TED" still visible, probably originally would have read "WARRANTED", with holes from flint mechanisms that were removed and filled. Full length walnut stock of American form, with brass furniture and single barrel wedge. Lock and cock decorated with simple florals and line borders. Brass tipped ramrod feeds directly into a reinforced mouth. Trigger guard with plain brass finial at tip, superficially resembling a pineapple finial. CONDITION: Good. Barrel has an even chocolate patina with some minor marks to silvering. Lock has been heavily polished that softened legends and nearly destroyed the "WARRANTED" mark. Stock is good with numerous bruises and light chips throughout, with 2 noticeable cracks on left side through rear plate retaining screw. Mechanically fine, bore is very good. EMW
