This neat display covers major variations of the .45 caliber ammunition used by the US Cavalry in their Colt Single Action Army revolvers during the Indian Wars period. 4 full boxes are included: (A) Sealed 12 round January 1874 dated Frankfort Arsenal. CONDITION: Good with overall dark appearance and some staining but no major signs of distress. (B) Sealed 12 round 1878 Frankfort Arsenal. CONDITION: Very good. Dark overall appearance with some corner wear. (C) Sealed 12 round September 1892 dated Frankfort Arsenal 2-piece reloadable. CONDITION: Very good with some light edge wear and faded date. (D) Sealed 12 round undated Frankfort Arsenal blanks. CONDITION: Very good. Some light staining. Loose examples of the cartridges are also provided including: 12 copper cased martin primed rounds, 6 standard copper cased reloadable cartridges, and 6 externally primed blanks. Also included are a fire blued screw driver, case hardened US Model 1879 combination tool, oiler, and cleaning rod. All very fine condition. All items are housed in a custom fitted walnut display case made by David Wyman. Case has some minor marks and a broken latch. BAS
