1862 vintage Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver, serial number 128052. 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel in .36 caliber with Colt New York barrel address, cone front sight, and hammer notch rear. 4 screw frame with extended stock mounting screws, recoil shield scalloped, and butt cut for 3rd model shoulder stock. Iron backstrap with brass trigger guard. 1 piece plain walnut grips. Both sides of barrel, cylinder, and trigger guard are stamped "A.G" and frame, trigger guard, barrel, and butt are stamped with a "2" either on top of or below the serial number. It is unknown exactly what these additional markings are but they are possibly some sort of rack number or militia marking. These markings show honest wear, meaning that they have been present for a long time. Complete with a modern manufactured wooden box with red felt interior. CONDITION: Good, with virtually all of the original finishes turned to a gray-brown patina with heavy handling marks and age related pitting throughout. Cylinder scene is faintly visible. Action is tight. Bore is dark with well-defined rifling. Case is excellent. TON
