Colt Model 1849 Pocket percussion revolver with case. Made 1857. 2 line New York City company address on the top of the barrel. "COLTS/PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the barrel assembly, frame, trigger guard, and butt. Octagon barrel with pin front sight. Original case colored finish on the frame, loading lever, and hammer. Barrel retains its original blued finish. Silver plated brass grip straps and trigger guard. Cylinder retains its original engraved stagecoach scene. Single piece varnished walnut grip. Includes a period maroon velvet lined wood box with original powder flask, bullet mold, key, cap tin (sealed), and 4 lead balls. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish general wear and patina. Grip straps show some signs of light cleaning. Wood has handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Nipples have wear and signs of use. Mechanically fine. Box has edge wear, and some interior deterioration. Accessories have tarnish. JWA
