Wartime Southern Telegraph Companies telegraph message from Forrest as Brigadier General to General Polk transcribed in ink requesting arms and ammunition. "Will you order one thousand (1000) stand of arms & one hundred rounds of ammunition to each gun to be sent to me, NB Forrest / Brig. Genl." Noted as sent from Murfreesboro and received October 31, 1862. CONDITION: Very good. Thin water stain at left, but good color to ink and completely legible. Displays very well with prominent Forrest name and rank at lower right. The Confederate cavalry leader will need no introduction. His combat performance was generally acknowledged by both sides and this directly relates to arms supply for his troops.
