The Emmitsburg Road by Don Troiani. The print depicts confederate forces from the 7th North Carolina and the 52nd North Carolina Regiments as they move from the Bryan Farm and attempt to cross Emmitsburg road during the final day of the Battle of Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. The regiments are under the command of Major General Isaac R. Trimble and are attempting to scale the fence a the opposite side of Emmitsburg road as they are cut down by intense Union fire. The Confederate forces were repelled, the fences, crops and orchards of the Bryan farm were nearly destroyed, and the field west of the farm was turned into a graveyard. The figures in the print are wonderfully detailed from their facial expressions, down to each piece of gear they are wearing. The print is numbered in pencil "624/1500" on the lower left corner and signed by Don Troiani on the lower right corner. The print comes with a certificate of authenticity which is contained in an envelope on the back of the frame. CONDITION: The colors remain vibrant with no signs of fading. The print is wonderfully framed and ready to hang. Overall excellent. JLD
