Pattern 1853 Tower made Enfield percussion rifle with markings that are most likely Canadian. Rifled round barrel with integral pinned front sight and graduated rear sight with British proofs at breech. Tower made percussion lock dated 1859 and marked at rear with crown. Walnut full military stock with 3 iron barrel bands; brass trigger guard, nosepiece, and buttplate are marked with Canadian unit markings. Comes with original steel rod. CONDITION: Metal some slight surface corrosion and pitting with balance turning a brown patina. Rear band has been cleaned and finished. Brass has original golden patina with dings and marks. Wood has oiled looking finish with dings and marks with some cracks around tang. Dark pitted bore with good mechanics. DLM
