Lot consists of three Virginia buttons excavated at Civil War sites. A) Va state seal, Virginia/ Sic Semper Tyrannis border, Scovill, Waterbury backmark. Measures approximately 23mm. CONDITION: Good. Slight push with gilt in recessed areas. B) VMI Cadet on lined field. CONDITION: Good, about 40 percent gilt. Evans backmark. Measures approximately 20mm. C) Va state seal on lined field. Measures approximately15mm. Accompanying the buttons is a document provided by the consigner that states the small button was dug at Manassas. CONDITION: Good, face shows gilt to high spots, corrosion to raised areas and back. All three have backs and shanks in place with collector inventory numbers.
