A very early WWII Luftwaffe tropical "Hermann Meyer" visor cap with illegible markings and missing its sweat shield. Tan cotton twill body exhibits moderate staining and aging, with a two inch separation of the top cover from the center band to the right of the eagle. Side vent rivets appear to be made of zinc, and one of the four is missing, leaving a quarter inch hole. A Bevo eagle is hand sewn to the front, and an early tropical variation of the cockade is hand sewn to the center band. The chinstrap is not present, nor are the two attachment buttons, and it is likely they were removed during the war. Sweat band has some loose threads with soiling from being worn, especially on the lower edge. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
