Ubu nakago with painted characters on right side, obfuscated by age. 23 - 7/8" edge measured from kissaki to munemachi. Midare hamon. Saya with single hanger and wrapped in leather as a foul weather cover. Plain brass habaki. Plain copper fuchi with leather collar that has clasp for keeping sword closed, with anchor stud on saya. Standard army tsuba and kashira, menuki in the form of chrysanthemums. CONDITION: Sword has been amateurly polished over areas of pitting, with striations visible from the polishing. Hamon line is nicely visible for most of the cutting edge, but is difficult to see towards kissaki. Mounts are good but worn from age and handling. This is a great starter sword for someone who wants an authentic World War II Japanese army sword. EMW
