Classic shinogi-zukuri form with suguha hamon with fairly thin nioi, measuring 25" from kissaki to munemachi. No visible hada. Yakitsume boshi. Nakago is unsigned with single mekugi-ana and takanoha yasurime. Brass habaki. Standard World War II mounts with tsuba, fuchi, and kashira decorated with florals over a roe pattern. Menuki in the form of chrysanthemums. Sarute with florals. Saya with pebbled brown paint, single hanger, with furniture decorated en suite with balance of mounts. CONDITION: Blade is very good, polished over some old oxidation that has left darkness, more towards kissaki. Hamon is visible up through the boshi. Striations visible throughout from polishing. Very tip of kissaki is blunted, and ha has some notching. Mounts are very good with one strand of tsuka-ito broken and some marks from handling throughout. Tsuba has some rubbing to copper on high edges. EMW
