Classic shinogi zukuri form measuring 23 - 11/16" from kissaki to munemachi. Kissaki is somewhat longer than normally seen. Sword has been polished and some finer details are obscured but hamon looks to a gentle notare and, based partially on some ware, hada looks to be at least partially masame. Nakago is unsigned. Tsuba is decorated with florals and pierced through. Tsuka-ito and same same look to be new. Fuchi, kashira, koiguchi, koijiri, semegane all traditional with florals and roe paterns. Sarute is replaced and is a simple iron loop. CONDITION: Blade has been polished with some finer details obscured, and some spots of ware and pitting that have been polished over. Areas of scratches visible from polishing, blade looks to have been sharpened. Tsuka and tsuka-ito are fine as new; balance of mounts are very good with some loss of gilding throughout (more in protected areas). Saya has some spots of oxidation and scrapes. This is a nicely presenting sword that might benefit from some careful attention. EMW
