Lot consists of: (A) Engraved slot brooch Purple Heart with ribbon bar contained in its original coffin case. The Purple Heart is engraved to George W. Newport" in Vietnam War style engraving. CONDITION: The medal and ribbon exhibit slight tarnishing, the interior case exhibits slight stains, and the exterior of the case is clean. Overall very good. (B) WWII split wrap brooch Purple Heart engraved to "W.M. Sampson 246-40-95". The medal was privately script engraved. There is a small folder of reserach from the consigner that states this medal may have possibly been awarded to Wallace Martin Sampson who served in the South Pacific aboard the LST-695. CONDITION: The medal has lost most of its gilt and exhibits various scratches and blemishes. Overall fair. (C) WWII engraved and numbered Purple Heart. The medal is engraved to "Earl G. Ante" in period government style engraving and numbered "331760" CONDITION: The ribbon is tarnished and exhibits various blemishes. The medal is pockmarked but the engraving remains bold.
