Manufactured by DWM under contract for the Imperial German military during the Great War. Receiver is stamped "1916" over the chamber, with arsenal crown inspector's proofs followed by an Imperial Reichsadler on the right side. Imperial Reichsadler is also present on the top of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock. All numbers are matching with the exception of the receiver axle and magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting a few concentrated areas of wear and thinning that show through to brown patina. Bore is bright, showing moderate oxidation and retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing as well as a few impressions and scattered nicks to the diamonds. MLW
