Measures 24 - 3/8" from kissaki to munemachi. Ko-kissaki and iori mune with a deep sori. Hada is obscured as sword is out of polish, hamon looks like togari. Nakago with seki stamp, 2 mekugi-ana, and signed on left side with last two characters reading Kanemasa; complete signature looks to be a regional attribution. Takanoha yasurime and kurijiri nakagojiri. Gilt copper habaki. Tsuba with florals at corners pierced through. Fuchi of normal floral-on-roe design with locking pierce. Chrysanthemum menuki. Kashira and sarute look to be later cast versions as the designs are heavily softened. Rayskin same panels. Tsuka-ito is purple. Saya with koijiri, semegane, koiguchi, and ashi with normal floral-on-roe pattern and has remnants of black paint. CONDITION: Sword is out of polish with some surface scratches and one small spot of surface oxidation on right side. Cutting edge appears to have been sharpened. Mounts are good with gilt in protected areas and exposed copper base. Tsuka ito is tight and has hand rubbing to high points. Saya is good with surface oxidation and some verdigris discoloration on semegane but presenting very well. Presents well. EMW
