Measures 21 - 1/16" from tip of kissaki to munemachi. Iori mune with a medium sori. Suguha temper line with nicely visible nie. Mokume hada. Copper habaki. Ubu mumei nakago with single mekugi-ana. Yasurime softened but looks like katte sagari. Mounts are World War II with fuchi, kashira, koijiri, koiguchi, semegane, and ashi with standard floral and roe pattern. Chrysanthemum menuki. Rayskin same. CONDITION: Blade is in good polish with some ware and spotted oxidation but vivid temper line that disappears toward kissaki. Infintesimal nick at extremity of kissaki. Mounts are very good, tsuba looks to be regilt. Balance of mounts are very good with some gilding in protected areas but largely exposed copper base. Tsuka ito is tight with some hand rubbing darkness to high points. Saya is very good with numerous scrapes to bare metal. Wonderful overall appearance with a nice blade that just needs to be enjoyed.
