Classic Shinogi-zukuri blade with no visible hada; hamon is heavily obscured but looks like it might be suguha. Measures 26 - 1/8" from kissaki to munemachi. Signed in two characters Nobumitsu on right and dated October, 1938 on left. Single mekugi-ana with copper infill around bottom edge of mekugi-ana. Left side of nakago has a punched divot near nakagojiri, meaning unknown. Mounts are standard army mounts with floral deocrated tsuba; fuchi, kashira, koiri, koiguchi, ashi, and semegane decorated with florals en suite but over a roe pattern. Sarute with floral decorations. Same is gone, leaving only the wooden core of the tsuka still visible. CONDITION: Good, blade with some marks in the ha and some spots of surface scratches from polishing Mounts are good with some darkness from age; tsuba with rubs to high edges but retaning much gilding. Other mounts somewhat darker. Saya body is good with some scrapes and bumps and one small ding on left side. EMW
