Standard configuration PP semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Walther in 1937. Left side of slide bears the Walther banner logo followed by stampings stipulating the manufacturer information, as well as the caliber and model designations. Right side of slide, chamber, and muzzle bear a horizontal crown over "N" nitro proof. Frame is stamped "83" on the left side, beneath the grip panel. Pistol is mounted with Walther banner 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. Pistol is accompanied by one magazine and an unmarked contemporary leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of thinning and wear, mostly concentrated on the frame, that shows through to brown patina. Either side of the frame exhibits some areas of inactive oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and scattered handling marks, with the interior of the panels exhibiting some cracks that do not appear to effect serviceability. A nice pre-War Walther PP pistol. MLW
