Standard configuration LP.08 manufactured by DWM for the German military during the Great War. The receiver bears "1917 over the chamber DWM arsenal proofs followed by an Imperial German Reichsadler on the right side. Imperial German Reichsadler is also present on the right side of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. All numbers are matching, including the magazine and grips. Magazine body has been blued. This example is accompanied by a non-matching flat board stock and a "SATTLER LIEF.VERB./ IM SUBM. AMT/ LEIPZIG 1918" marked leather holster featuring a partially discernible "Z.St./ Dr." stamp on the left within a rectangle, as well as an ink stamped "XXX 18" on the interior of the flap. Holster contains a loading tool and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their reapplied arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and areas of thinning showing through to patina overall. Strawed components retain good amounts of their finish, exhibiting some areas of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting some light oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show some areas of smoothing, as well as a few indentations and some scattered nicks to the diamonds. Stock shows some scattered handling marks, but otherwise appears sturdy and serviceable. Holster shows some overall wear and some spots of age related cracking to the surface, but is otherwise fine. MLW
